The Malecón seawall is one of our favorite places in Havana. The seawall stretches five miles along the coast of Havana from the Havana Harbor to the neighborhood of Vedado. Why do we love it so much? It’s a place that Cubans love to gather- so much so, that one of its nicknames is the “big sofa of Havana.” Friends sit on the wall and share rum, lovers come to flirt, musicians play for fun or hoping for a tip from tourists, and fishermen cast their lures hoping for a catch.
