Art Basel to Cuba – Pre & Post Trips

What does it mean to be a Cuban artist today? Art Basel – Miami Beach offers some answers but there is a lot more. AC Journeys, a Miami-based, boutique travel consultancy group that specializes in VIP travel to Cuba, is offering two short trips to Cuba, right and after the leading art fair that will take place in Miami Beach next December. Join us for this privileged experience. Itineraries have been carefully curated by art historian and cultural anthropologist Dr. Ariana Hernandez-Reguant, whose research focuses on art, culture, and commerce ties between Cuba and the United States. During the stay, participants will get to meet Cuban artists and gallerists, attend contemporary art openings, visit architectural and monumental sites, and forge connections with the Cuban art world IN CUBA! Pre Art Basel Trip Details – Dates: December 1st– December 5th, 2018 (4 nights/5 days) – Maximum Number of Participants: 12 – COST: $2,450.00 per person in double room accommodations at high-end boutique properties such as La Reserva, Paseo 206, or Oleo Habana. Add $500.00 per person for accommodations at luxury 5-star Hotel, such as Hotel Saratoga, Hotel Parque Central, Hotel Grand Packard, among others. Add $560.00/$1,100.00 per person for single room travelers, respectively.

Post Art Basel Trip Details – Dates: December 10th– December 15th, 2018 (5 nights/6 days) – Maximum Number of Participants: 12 – COST: $2,800.00 per person in double room accommodations at high-end boutique properties such as La Reserva, Paseo 206, or Oleo Habana. Add $650.00 per person for accommodations at luxury 5-star Hotel, such as Saratoga. Add $700.00/$1,365.00 per person for single room travelers, respectively.

Key Events & Highlights of both trips: Welcome cocktails at Hotel Nacional, private concert by special guest musical ensemble, curated architectural tours of Old Havana and mid-century modern neighborhoods (Vedado and Nuevo Vedado), visits to monumental sites, like the Jose Marti Memorial and Plaza, the historic Colon Cemetery, and the town of Regla, across Havana Bay. Also included are  curated visits to contemporary art spaces like Espacio Aglutinador, Fabrica de Arte Cubano, the Centro Wifredo Lam, Factoria Habana, Estudio Figueroa-Vives, as well as to artists’ studios. Private parties, jazz jams, night clubs, a religious ceremony (on the second trip) and other off-the-beaten-path sites.

Accommodations are included in this program. Our accommodation offers range from luxury hotels (Hotel Saratoga, Hotel Parque Central, Hotel Grand Packard, among others) to boutique private properties such as (Paseo 206, La Reserva, and Oleo Havana)

Meals

Our lineup of restaurants includes the best private restaurants in the city. This program is all-meals-inclusive. Know that you will have the opportunity to eat a-la-carte (not a set menu). And, every meal always includes two drinks. You will only be responsible for wine, hard liqueur, and gratuity. All reservations are flexible and can be changed or canceled on your request.
