Havana, Santa Clara

In spite of the many mistakes and injustices committed against the LGBT community in the early days of the Cuban Revolution and considering the subcultures of male dominance and Machismo, today Cuba has taken long strides in the defense and validation of ͞the others͟. After all, Cuba is the only country in the World that dedicates an institutionalized day to fight homophobia. Learn about what the Cuban government and institutions are doing to advance the cause of the LGBT community. Explore how an infrastructure-less community is creating a space of its own and for its own. Join the LGBT community as they go about their lives, and face daily challenges.
